![]() Orlando, Florida Museum Permanent Collection, Paintings![]() The Madonna of the Rosary Margaret Farr The Madonna of the Rosary Our Lady is surrounded by flowers found in the artist’s garden in Virginia during the month of October; camellias, roses, pansies, juniper, winterberry, and nandina. Farr only paints her botanical paintings from live floral and organizes Marian projects by season. Farr will reference a feast day or event in Our Lady's life with plants blooming at the time, and will proceed from there to explore some aspect of the event in creating her depictions In this painting Mary is depicted as a young Jewish girl who “ponders in her heart” the mystery of which she has been a part.
