2011-2012 Concert Season



All programs are held in the magnificent Basilica Church, and there is ample free parking.



The series will begin on Sunday, September 11, 2011,with a concert titled September 11- We Will Never Forget, featuring the Basilica Choir and Brass Ensemble under the direction of William Picher. The concert will be a tribute to those who were lost and well as the heroes who continue to inspire us.

Friday, December 2, 2011 at 7:30p.m., will be the annual celebration titled Christmas with the Basilica Choir Celebration, featuring a wide variety of popular and classical works for choir and orchestra. This is a very popular event and audience members are advised to come early for the best seats.

Preceding the concert at 5:30p.m. will be an open house at the Basilica Gift Shop and Museum, with free refreshments.

John Rutter's Requiemwill be the highlight of the Lenten Choral Concert on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. The program will also feature a cappella and accompanied masterpieces by the Basilica Choir and Ensemble.

Music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be performed in the context of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in honor of the Feast of the Installation of Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 7:00p.m. The Basilica Choir and Orchestra, under the direction of William Picher, will perform Mozart's sublime Coronation Mass in C Major, along with other selections by Mozart and Gregorian chant during the Mass. Tickets are not required for this event; all are welcome.

Tickets for each program are $10 - except the April 24, 2012, Choral Mass. Group rates are available by calling the Music Office in advance. The Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe is located at 8300 Vineland Avenue in Orlando, near the Lake Buena Vista of I-4 (exit #68). Tickets are available at the Basilica Gift Shop or at the door.
